FAQs
1. Getting Started
1.1. What is Logsage?
Logsage is a comprehensive, secure digital logbook platform designed specifically for Australian psychologists. It helps you track your professional practice hours, supervision requirements, and continuing professional development (CPD) activities in compliance with Ahpra requirements.
Logsage streamlines the entire logbook management process—from logging daily activities to obtaining supervisor approvals and generating official reports for Ahpra submissions.
1.2. Who is Logsage for?
Logsage is designed for:
- Provisional Psychologists: Completing the 5+1 internship program (1,500+ hours)
- Registrars: Completing registrar programs (1,500-3,000 hours depending on pathway)
- Registered Psychologists: Tracking annual CPD requirements (30 hours per year)
- Supervisors: Reviewing, approving, and digitally signing supervisee logbooks
1.3. What is required for signing up and logging in?
To sign up for Logsage, you'll need:
- A valid email address
- A secure password (minimum 8 characters)
- Basic information about your program type and start date
Once you've created your account, you can log in using your email address and password. Logsage also supports optional multi-factor authentication (MFA) for enhanced security.
1.4. Why is Logsage better than Excel spreadsheet templates?
Logsage offers significant advantages over Excel spreadsheet templates:
- Real-time Progress Tracking: See your hours and requirements update automatically as you log entries—no clunky excel formulas needed
- Supervisor Integration: Digital sign-off workflows mean no more copy-pasting digital signatures into excel. Supervisors can initial and comment on individual entries, approve each week of logs, and sign-off on any custom period of your logbook.
- Built-in Validation: Logsage automatically validates your entries against Ahpra requirements for your program (e.g., principal supervision hours, PD hours)
- Secure Cloud Storage: Your logbook is safely stored in the cloud on highly secure servers in Sydney—no more relying on local hard drives, paper copies, or email attachments
- Professional PDF Exports: Generate Ahpra-compliant reports with digital signatures in seconds
- Mobile Access: Log entries on-the-go from your phone or tablet
- Voice Entry: Premium users can speak their entries instead of typing (saves significant time and lets you get off the computer)
- Automatic Calculations: Cumulative hours, progress percentages, and completion projections are calculated automatically
1.5. Why is Logsage better than using the standard Ahpra PDFs?
While Ahpra provides PDF templates, they lack the functionality and efficiency that Logsage offers:
- No Built-in Supervisor Review: Ahpra PDFs require either (i) copy-pasting digital signatures into the PDF or (ii) manual printing, signing, and scanning. Either way, these are clunky (and not very secure) processes for both supervisee and supervisor. Logsage enables digital supervisor review and approvals, streamlining the entire process
- No Cumulative Tracking: Ahpra PDFs don't automatically track your cumulative hours or progress toward requirements. Logsage provides real-time dashboards showing exactly where you stand
- No Progress Monitoring: You can't easily see if you're on track to complete your program on time with PDFs. Logsage shows projected completion dates and highlights any areas that need attention
- Manual Calculations: With PDFs, you must manually add up hours across multiple documents. Logsage calculates everything automatically
- No Validation: PDFs don't validate whether your entries meet Ahpra requirements (e.g., active vs passive CPD). Logsage checks this automatically
- Version Control Issues: PDFs can lead to confusion with multiple versions. Logsage maintains a single, always-current version of your logbook
- Search and Filter: Finding specific entries in PDFs is difficult. Logsage offers powerful search and filtering capabilities
1.6. How does Logsage save me time?
Logsage saves you significant time through automation and streamlined workflows:
- Automatic Calculations: No more manually adding up hours—Logsage calculates cumulative totals, progress percentages, and completion projections automatically
- Voice Entry (Premium): Speak your log entries instead of typing—saves 5-10 minutes per entry
- Digital Supervisor Approvals: No copy pasting digital signatures into Excel or printing, scanning, or emailing PDFs. Supervisors can review and sign digitally in minutes
- Quick Entry Forms: No need to re-enter (or repetitively copy-paste) information like your Client IDs, places of practice, or supervisors. Easily select this info from your own database. Pre-filled forms and smart defaults reduce data entry time
- Instant PDF Generation: Generate Ahpra-compliant reports in seconds, not hours
- Real-time validation checks: Immediate feedback on whether your logging activity is in line with Ahpra requirements—no surprises at submission time
- Mobile Logging: Log entries on-the-go during breaks, eliminating the need to set aside dedicated time later
- Bulk Operations: Supervisors can easily approve and sign an entire week of client contact and client-related entries in one click
Our first users report saving 2-3 hours per week compared to manual logbook management.
1.7. Can I import previous logbook hours?
Yes. If you're transferring from another logbook system (Excel, Word, PDF, or another digital platform), you can import your previously approved hours into Logsage.
In your Profile settings, you'll find the "Import Prior Logbook Hours" section where you can enter:
- Client contact hours (real and simulated)
- Client-related hours
- Supervision hours (principal and secondary supervisors)
- Professional development hours (active and passive)
These imported hours will be added to your Logsage totals and appear in your dashboards, analytics, and PDF exports. You should retain your original logbook records as evidence, as Logsage tracks these as cumulative totals rather than individual entries.
Important: Only include hours that were formally approved by your supervisor in your previous logbook.
1.8. Who owns Logsage?
Logsage was founded by Dr. Beau Gamble, a registered psychologist and research scientist based in Perth, Western Australia. He experienced firsthand the frustration (and endless tedium!) of manual logbook management during his own internship.
Determined to build a better solution for the next generation of Australian psychologists, Logsage was born from lived experience and a deep understanding of the profession's unique needs.
1.9. Can I access Logsage on my phone?
Yes. Logsage is a secure, cloud-based platform accessible through your web browser on any device (desktop, laptop, tablet, or mobile phone). The app is optimised for mobile use, allowing you to log activities on-the-go without needing to install a separate app. You can also add Logsage to your phone's home screen for quick access.
1.10. How can I use Logsage like an app on my phone?
Logsage is a Progressive Web App (PWA), which means it works like a native app on your phone without needing to download it from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
To add Logsage to your phone's home screen:
On iPhone (Safari):
- Open Logsage in Safari
- Tap the Share button (square with arrow pointing up)
- Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen"
- Tap "Add" to confirm
On Android (Chrome):
- Open Logsage in Chrome
- Tap the menu (three dots) in the top right
- Select "Add to Home screen" or "Install app"
- Tap "Add" or "Install" to confirm
Once added, Logsage will appear as an icon on your home screen and will open in its own window, just like a native app. It will function exactly the same as if you'd downloaded it from an app store.
2. Log Entries
2.1. How do I create a new log entry?
Navigate to the "Log Entry" page (or "New Entry" in the navigation). Select the category of your activity (Client Contact, Client-Related, Supervision, or Professional Development), fill in the details like date, duration, description, and any relevant client/supervisor information. You can save it as a draft or submit it for approval to your supervisor.
For Provisional Psychologists: Track your 5+1 internship requirements across all four categories.
For Registrars: Your registrar program requirements will automatically adjust based on your registrar program type (6th Year Standard, 6th Year + Doctoral, or 7th Year+).
For Registered Psychologists: Use Professional Development entries to track your CPD activities and learning plans.
2.2. Do I have to do voice transcription or can I just type?
Voice transcription is completely optional. You can always type your log entries manually if you prefer.
Voice Entry (Premium Feature): Available for Premium subscribers, voice transcription allows you to speak your entry details instead of typing. This can save significant time, allowing you to log an entry in about 60 seconds.
Manual Entry: All users can type their entries directly into the form fields. This is the standard method and works perfectly for all entry types.
You can mix and match—use voice entry when convenient (e.g., during commutes, breaks) and type when you prefer. The choice is entirely yours.
2.3. What is the "Voice Entry" feature?
The Voice Entry feature (available with the Premium Plan) allows you to simply speak your log entry details. Our secure AI transcription service (powered by Azure OpenAI, hosted in Australia) will transcribe your audio and intelligently populate the form fields for you. This saves significant time and lets you log hands-free. Take a break from screens and complete your daily logging while on the go.
How it works:
- Click the microphone button when creating a new entry
- Speak your entry details (date, duration, category, description, etc.)
- Our AI processes your audio and extracts structured information
- Review and edit the auto-filled form before saving
Limits: Premium users receive up to 10 hours (600 minutes) of AI voice transcription per month. Your usage resets at the start of each billing cycle.
Privacy: Your audio is processed securely in Australia and is not retained after transcription. The audio file is deleted immediately after processing.
2.4. What are "Client Contact" hours?
Client Contact hours involve direct interaction with clients for psychological assessment, diagnosis, intervention, prevention, treatment, consultation, or providing advice and strategies under supervision.
For Provisional Psychologists (5+1): You need a minimum of 500 hours of client contact. Up to 60 hours of this can be simulated client contact (role-plays, training scenarios).
For Registrars: Client contact requirements vary by program type. Some registrar programs require a minimum of 176 hours of direct client contact per year, while others may not have a specific minimum. Logsage automatically tracks your annual client contact requirement based on your program type.
2.5. What are "Client-Related Activities"?
These are indirect activities necessary to support your work with clients and develop your competencies. Examples include reading research for a specific client, case consultation with colleagues, treatment planning, case notes (de-identified), or formal/informal reporting related to client care.
Client-related hours contribute to your total program hours but typically don't have a specific minimum requirement.
2.6. How does "Professional Development" (PD) work?
You can log workshops, seminars, conferences, reading, online courses, and other PD activities. You'll specify the type, details, topics covered, and relevant Ahpra core competency areas. Your principal supervisor will need to initial (either in the app or manually) each individual PD entry, in line with Ahpra requirements.
For Provisional Psychologists (5+1): You need a minimum of 60 hours of professional development during your internship.
For Registrars: You need a minimum of 40 hours of Active CPD per year.
For Registered Psychologists: Track your 30-hour annual CPD requirement, along with learning plans and goal setting.
2.7. How do Supervision entries work?
Supervision entries track your formal supervision sessions with your supervisor(s). When creating a supervision entry, you'll specify:
- Supervision Type: Individual, group, or other
- Delivery Mode: Direct (face-to-face or video) or indirect (phone, email)
- Supervisor: Which supervisor provided the session (principal or secondary)
- Duration: Length of the supervision session
- Description: Topics discussed, cases reviewed, or learning outcomes
- Clients Discussed (optional): If specific clients were discussed, you can link them (using de-identified client IDs)
For Provisional Psychologists (5+1): You need a minimum of 80 hours of supervision, with at least 50 hours being direct, individual supervision with your principal supervisor.
For Registrars: Supervision requirements vary by program type (40-80 hours total).
Supervisor Sign-off: Supervision entries require supervisor initials. If your supervisor uses Logsage, they can digitally initial entries. Otherwise, they can sign the exported PDF reports.
2.8. Can I edit an entry after it's been submitted or approved?
Yes, you can edit entries. If an entry has been submitted for approval, any edits will reset its status back to "Draft." If an entry was already approved by a supervisor, editing it will change its status back to "Pending Approval" and require re-approval to maintain compliance and ensure your supervisor reviews the updated version.
2.9. Do I need an internet connection to use Logsage?
Yes, Logsage currently requires an active internet connection. As a secure, cloud-based platform, Logsage needs to connect to the server to save your new entries, sync with supervisor accounts, update your progress, and generate official reports.
3. Supervisors & Approvals
3.1. How do I add a supervisor?
Go to the "Supervisors" page and click "Add Supervisor." You'll need to enter their full name, Ahpra registration number, and email address. You can also indicate if they are your principal supervisor and if they use the Logsage app for digital signing.
3.2. What if my supervisor is old school?
If your supervisor prefers doing things the old school way (signing on paper or PDF), that's okay. You just won't enable the 'digital signing enabled' feature. When you generate a PDF report of a logbook period, there will be a place for your supervisor to sign and date these manually.
3.3. What is a "Principal Supervisor"?
Your principal supervisor is your main supervisor who oversees your internship or registrar program. They will typically be responsible for approving weekly periods and full logbooks.
3.4. What is the difference between "Digital Signing Enabled" and manual signing?
Digital Signing Enabled: If your supervisor uses Logsage, they can log in to the app to digitally initial individual supervision/PD entries and sign weekly/full logbook approvals. This means you don't need physical signatures and approvals happen seamlessly through the app.
Manual Signing: If your supervisor does not use Logsage, you will need to generate PDF reports and obtain their physical signature on printed documents. The PDF exports include designated signature areas for this purpose.
3.5. What about Secondary Supervisors who need to initial supervision entries for sessions they delivered?
Ahpra requires that the supervisor who provided a supervision session needs to initial that entry—whether they are the principal or secondary supervisor.
Logsage has a dedicated initialing feature for this. Just select which supervisor delivered the session, and it will go to them for digital approval/initialing. If one of your supervisors doesn't use the app, no problem. There will be room for them to initial the entry in the exported PDF report.
3.6. How does weekly approval work?
For provisional psychologists and registrars, your supervisor can approve all your client contact and client-related entries for a specific week (Monday-Sunday) in one go. They will digitally sign this weekly approval, which is then recorded in your logbook.
This weekly approval system matches Ahpra's recommendations for approx. weekly logbook review and fits with how most supervisors operate with alternative logbooks (e.g., manual signing on paper, in Word or Excel).
3.7. What are the three 'levels' of approvals for supervisors?
Logsage supports three levels of supervisor approvals, each serving different purposes:
- Individual Entry Approval: Supervisors can review and digitally initial individual supervision and professional development entries. This provides granular oversight of specific activities and allows supervisors to add comments on individual entries.
- Weekly Approval: Supervisors can approve all client contact and client-related entries for a specific week (Monday-Sunday) in one go. This matches Ahpra's recommendations and fits with how most supervisors operate. The supervisor digitally signs the weekly approval, which is then recorded in your logbook.
- Custom Period Approval: For larger milestones—such as progress reports, supervisor changes, or program completion—you can request your principal supervisor to review and digitally sign your logbook for a custom date range (e.g., 6 months, 1 year, or your full program). This creates a complete, signed record of your logbook for that period.
All three levels can be done digitally (if your supervisor uses Logsage) or manually via PDF exports with physical signatures.
3.8. How do supervisors review and initial individual entries?
Supervisors can navigate to the "Review & Sign" page (or "Supervisees" page), select a supervisee, and see a list of individual supervision and professional development entries awaiting their initials. They can then add comments and digitally initial these entries.
3.9. How do I request full logbook approval from my supervisor?
On the "Export Report" page, you can select a date range and request your principal supervisor to review and digitally sign your entire logbook for that period (e.g., for progress reports, supervisor changes, or program completion). You will first need to sign the request yourself.
4. CPD Logging (Registered Psychologists)
4.1. How does CPD logging work for registered psychologists?
Registered psychologists can use Logsage to track their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements. The app helps you:
- Log CPD Activities: Record workshops, courses, reading, conferences, and other professional development activities
- Create Learning Plans: Plan and track your CPD goals and activities
- Map to Core Competencies: Link activities to Ahpra's 8 core competency areas
- Calculate Pro-Rata Hours: Automatically calculate CPD hours for activities that span multiple CPD periods
- Reflect on Activities: Add reflections to your professional development journal
- Attach Evidence: Upload certificates, notes, or other evidence files
- Track Progress: Monitor your progress toward the 30-hour annual CPD requirement
4.2. How do learning plans work?
Learning plans help you structure and track your CPD activities throughout the year. Each learning plan covers one CPD period (typically December 1 - November 30).
Creating a Learning Plan:
- At the start of your CPD period, create a new learning plan in Logsage
- Add 1-3+ learning goals, each with:
- Learning needs you've identified
- Proposed activities to address those needs
- Planned dates for activities
- Anticipated outcomes
- Review dates
Tracking Progress:
- As you complete CPD activities, log them as Professional Development entries in Logsage
- Link your entries to your learning plan goals
- Review and update your goals throughout the year, recording actual outcomes achieved
- Complete an overall reflection at the end of your CPD period
Learning plans help ensure your CPD is purposeful, aligned with your professional development needs, and meets Ahpra requirements for structured CPD planning.
4.3. How does the professional development journal work?
The professional development (PD) journal is a collection of your reflections on each CPD activity you complete. Ahpra requires registered psychologists to maintain a PD journal that demonstrates reflection on their learning.
How it works in Logsage:
- When you log a Professional Development entry, you can add a "Reflections" field where you reflect on the activity
- Your reflections might include:
- What you learned from the activity
- How it relates to your practice
- How you plan to apply the learning
- Any insights or challenges encountered
- All your reflections are stored with your CPD entries
Exporting Your PD Journal:
When you export your CPD logbook (via the Export page), Logsage includes all your reflections from the "Comments" field of each Professional Development entry. This exported document comprises your professional development journal that Ahpra requires.
You can export your PD journal for a specific CPD period, making it easy to submit to Ahpra or keep for your records.
5. Registrar Programs
5.1. What registrar programs does Logsage support?
Logsage supports three registrar program types:
- Registrar - 6th Year (MPsych/Bridging) - Standard Pathway
- Total: 3,000 hours over ~1.7 years (88 weeks)
- Supervision: 80 hours
- Active CPD: 80 hours (ALL must be active)
- Annual client contact: 176 hours minimum per year
- Registrar - 6th Year + Doctoral Thesis
- Total: 2,250 hours over ~1.3 years (66 weeks)
- Supervision: 60 hours
- Active CPD: 60 hours (ALL must be active)
- Annual client contact: 176 hours minimum per year
- Registrar - 7th Year+ (DPsych/PsyD)
- Total: 1,500 hours over ~0.85 years (44 weeks)
- Supervision: 40 hours
- Active CPD: 40 hours (ALL must be active)
- Annual client contact: 176 hours minimum per year
When you create your account, select "Registrar Program" as your account type and choose the program that matches your endorsement pathway.
5.2. Do registrars need to track direct observations?
No. Unlike provisional psychologists (5+1 internship) who must track 2 intervention sessions and 2 assessment sessions that are directly observed by supervisors every six months, registrar programs do not have this requirement.
6. NPE Prep
6.1. What is NPE Prep and who can access it?
NPE Prep is Logsage's practice module designed to help you prepare for the National Psychology Exam (NPE). It provides practice questions aligned with the 2026 NPE Curriculum, allowing you to test your knowledge across competency areas and domains.
Who can access NPE Prep:
All Logsage users with a provisional psychologist account receive free access to 20 sample questions. Full access to all 220 questions is available through a one-time purchase.
6.2. Who developed and verified the questions?
The NPE Prep content has been developed by Registered Psychologists with the aim of aligning with the 2026 National Psychology Exam (NPE) Curriculum.
Principal Reviewer: Dr Beau Gamble, PhD, MPsych (Prof), Registered Psychologist.
Important Note: The reviewer is not a Board Approved Supervisor. Engagement with this tool does not count towards internship supervision hours.
While every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of answers and relevance to the NPE curriculum, we acknowledge that there is sometimes a degree of subjectivity inherent to clinical judgment (as is often the case in complex psychological scenarios). The content is intended as an educational aid to facilitate your understanding rather than as a definitive authoritative source.
All content within this module has been rigorously written, developed, reviewed, and verified by Logsage and is the exclusive intellectual property of Logsage.
6.3. Do the different answer options have detailed explanations?
Yes. Each question includes detailed explanations for all answer options, not just the correct answer. This helps you understand:
- Why the correct answer is the best choice
- Why other options are incorrect or less appropriate
- The clinical reasoning behind each option
- Key concepts and principles relevant to the question
These detailed explanations are designed to enhance your learning and help you develop a deeper understanding of the material, rather than simply memorizing correct answers. This educational approach supports your preparation for the actual NPE exam.
6.4. Do I need an active Logsage subscription to use NPE Prep?
Yes. You need an active Logsage account to access NPE Prep questions. Sign up for a free account to get started.
During your free trial: You can access NPE Prep (both free and purchased questions) while your 30-day free trial is active.
After your trial expires: To continue accessing NPE Prep questions (including any questions you've purchased), you will need to subscribe to a paid Logsage plan (Professional or Premium, starting from $8 per month on annual subscription).
Important: If you purchase full access to NPE Prep questions ($59 one-time payment), you will retain access to those questions as long as you maintain an active Logsage subscription. If you cancel your subscription, you will lose access to the NPE Prep questions until you resubscribe.
This ensures that NPE Prep remains integrated with your Logsage account and that you have ongoing access to the platform's features and support.
6.5. What practice modes are available?
NPE Prep offers several practice modes to suit different study needs:
- Random Selection: Practice with a random selection of questions. You can choose how many questions (5, 10, 20, 50, or 100) and optionally set a time limit. This mode is great for general practice and testing your knowledge across all areas.
- Targeted (by Domain): Focus your practice on specific domains (e.g., Assessment, Intervention, Ethics). Select one or more domains and practice questions from those areas. This helps you strengthen your knowledge in specific areas where you may need more practice.
- Targeted (by Competency): Practice questions aligned with specific AHPRA core competency areas. This allows you to target your preparation based on the 8 core competency areas assessed in the NPE.
- Full NPE Simulation: Simulate the actual NPE exam conditions with 150 questions and a 210-minute (3.5 hour) time limit. This mode requires full access purchase and helps you practice under exam-like conditions. Your progress saves automatically if you need to exit early, and answers and feedback are revealed only at the end of the session.
All practice modes (except Full NPE Simulation) are available with free access to the 20 sample questions. Full access purchase unlocks all modes with the complete question bank.

Yes, new users can receive a free 30-day trial period to explore Logsage's features. During the trial, you'll have access to all Premium features. You can check your trial end date in your Profile page.
No credit card is required to start your trial.
7.7. What happens when my free trial ends?
When your free trial ends after 30 days, you will need to subscribe to a paid plan (Professional or Premium) to continue using Logsage. All your previously logged entries and settings are securely saved.
8. Data & Privacy
8.1. Who owns my logbook data?
You do. You, as the user, retain all rights, ownership, and control of the data you input into Logsage. Logsage acts solely as the data processor (or custodian) storing and managing the data on your behalf to provide the service. This is fully explained in our Terms of Service.
Your data is stored securely in Supabase (hosted in Sydney, Australia) and is protected by Row Level Security (RLS) policies that ensure only you and your approved supervisors can access your data.
8.2. Are my logbook entries considered client records?
No, absolutely not. Logbook entries in Logsage are explicitly NOT considered client records. This is a crucial distinction under Ahpra and the PsyBA.
Client Records are comprehensive, identifiable notes intended for client care, stored securely in your clinical records system.
Logbook Entries are records of your professional activities and hours, and must only contain de-identified client information.
It is your professional responsibility to maintain separate, secure, and identifiable clinical records within your workplace's approved system, entirely distinct from your Logsage logbook.
8.3. Why do I need to de-identify client information?
This is critical and mandatory.
Professional Mandate: The Psychology Board of Australia's Code of Conduct requires that psychologists maintain client confidentiality and only collect information necessary for professional purposes. Your supervision logbook is a professional practice record demonstrating your development of competencies—it is not a clinical case file.
Ahpra specifically requires that supervision logbooks contain de-identified client information. The logbook demonstrates your professional activities and hours, not detailed case histories.
Logbook vs Clinical Records
- Your Logbook (Logsage): Records your professional activities, hours, and competency development using de-identified client information.
- Clinical Records: Detailed, identifiable case notes stored securely in your workplace's records system (separate from your logbook).
8.4. What happens if I accidentally include personally identifiable information (PII)?
You can immediately edit the log entry to remove the PII. If the entry was already approved by your supervisor, editing it will automatically revert its status to "Pending Approval" to ensure your supervisor re-reviews the de-identified, compliant version. If you have concerns about sensitive data, please contact support immediately at support@logsage.com.au.
8.5. What is "de-identification" and why is it so important for my Logsage entries?
De-identification means excluding all personally identifiable information (PII) from your log entries so that individuals cannot be linked back to the information. This is critical because it meets the Ahpra mandate and your ethical duty to maintain client confidentiality. This requirement is a core part of our Terms of Service.
Examples of PII to avoid:
- Client names
- Addresses
- Phone numbers
- Email addresses
- Specific identifying details (e.g., "the client who works at [specific company]")
Instead, use:
- Client IDs (e.g., "Client A", "Client 001")
- General descriptions (e.g., "adult male client", "adolescent client")
- De-identified case details
8.6. How is my data stored and secured in Logsage?
Logsage is built on Supabase, a secure platform with SOC 2 Type II compliance. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, stored in Sydney, Australia, and protected by Row Level Security (RLS) policies that ensure only you and your approved supervisors can access your data.
8.7. Who can access my log entries?
- You (full control): You have complete access to all your own log entries and can edit, delete (before approval), and export them.
- Approved Supervisors: Supervisors you've added can view, comment on, and sign entries submitted to them. They can only see entries you've explicitly shared with them.
- Logsage Personnel: Access is strictly limited to providing the service or troubleshooting technical issues. All access is logged and audited.
- Third Parties: Your data is never shared for marketing. Voice transcriptions are processed through Microsoft Azure services with zero data retention policies—your audio and transcriptions are not stored, and data is not used for training AI models. Only the data you review and approve is extracted into your logbook entries.
8.8. Where is my data stored geographically (data residency)?
All your data is stored and processed in Australia.
- Database: Supabase PostgreSQL hosted in Sydney, Australia
- File Storage: Supabase Storage (powered by AWS) hosted in Sydney, Australia
- Voice Transcription: Microsoft Azure Speech Service hosted in Australia East region
Infrastructure Security: Supabase runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure in Sydney, Australia. AWS provides enterprise-grade security, encryption, redundancy, and compliance capabilities (SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified) that protect your data.
This ensures full compliance with Australian data residency requirements and the Australian Privacy Act 1988.
8.9. How does Logsage handle my voice recordings for AI transcription?
When you use the AI Voice Entry feature:
Secure Transmission: Your audio is securely transmitted to Azure Speech Service (hosted in Australia East region) for transcription.
Zero Data Retention (ZDR): The audio file is processed transiently and is NOT retained by Azure after the transcription is returned to Logsage. The audio file is deleted from our storage immediately after processing.
Purpose-Limited Use: Azure is contractually prohibited from using your audio or transcription for any purpose, such as training their models. Your audio is processed solely for transcription and is not used for AI model training.
Data Location: All processing happens in Australia, ensuring your audio never leaves Australian data centres.
8.10. Is Logsage's underlying infrastructure audited for security compliance?

9. Account Management
9.1. How do I change my primary email address?
To change your primary email address, please contact support@logsage.com.au from your current email address. Our support team will verify your identity and assist with the change.
What you'll need:
- Email from your current primary email address
- Your account details (name, approximate account creation date, or other identifying information)
- The new email address you'd like to use
Security: Our support team will verify your identity before making any changes to ensure your account remains secure.
9.2. What is a recovery email and how do I use it?
A recovery email (also called a secondary email) is an additional email address you can add to your account for account recovery purposes.
How it works:
- Add a verified secondary email address in your Profile settings
- If you lose access to your primary email, contact support@logsage.com.au from your verified secondary email
- Our support team will verify your identity and can change your primary email to your recovery email
- You can then use your recovery email as your new primary email to access your account
Important:
- The secondary email must be verified before it can be used for account recovery
- You cannot sign in with your secondary email—it's only for account recovery
- You can only have one secondary email at a time
9.3. How can I reset my password?
If you've forgotten your password, you can reset it easily:
- Go to the Sign In page
- Click "Forgot password?" or "Reset password"
- Enter your email address (primary or verified secondary email)
- Check your email for a password reset link
- Click the link and follow the instructions to create a new password
Note: If you have multi-factor authentication (MFA) enabled, you may need to verify your identity through additional steps. If you're having trouble, contact support@logsage.com.au for assistance.
9.4. Is multi-factor authentication (MFA) required?
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is optional but highly recommended for enhanced account security.
What is MFA?
MFA adds an extra layer of security to your account. When enabled, you'll need both your password and a time-based code from an authenticator app (like Google Authenticator, Authy, or Microsoft Authenticator) to sign in.
How to Enable MFA:
- Go to your Profile settings
- Navigate to the Security section
- Click "Enable 2FA" or "Set up Multi-Factor Authentication"
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app
- Enter the verification code to complete setup
Benefits: MFA significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access to your account, even if someone obtains your password. This is especially important for accounts containing professional practice records.
You can enable or disable MFA at any time from your Profile settings.
9.5. How do I select my user type (5+1, Registrar, Registered Psychologist, or Supervisor)?
When you first sign up for Logsage, you'll be asked to select your user type during the account creation process. This determines which features and requirements are tracked in your logbook.
Available User Types:
- 5+1 (Provisional Psychologist): For psychologists completing the 5+1 internship program (1,500+ hours)
- Registrar: For psychologists completing registrar programs (1,500-3,000 hours depending on pathway)
- Registered Psychologist: For fully registered psychologists tracking annual CPD requirements (30 hours per year)
- Supervisor: For supervisors who review and approve supervisee logbooks
Changing Your User Type:
If you need to change your user type after account creation (e.g., you've completed your 5+1 and are now registered), you can update this in your Profile settings. Note that changing your user type may affect how your existing entries are categorized and displayed.
